Description

The Cavallo LEB (Long Ear Boot) is the very first hoof boot in the world designed specifically for donkeys. With years of real-world experience with donkeys across the globe — on packing trips, rocky trails, with sore-footed donkeys in rescues, and during turnout and transport — the LEB delivers exactly what every long-eared companion deserves: comfortable protection.
If you have a donkey or burro, you know their hooves are unique: more upright, narrower, with stronger frogs and higher, more pronounced heel bulbs than horses. These differences are essential. A properly fitting hoof boot supports healthy hoof mechanics, balanced movement, and long-term soundness. In nature, donkeys evolved for dry, rocky terrain; their hooves are strong and resilient but may face challenges in softer or domestic environments. Unlike horse boots, the LEB boots are fully shaped and developed for the narrow, upright structure of the donkey hoof.

Each LEB features a flexible yet highly durable TPU sole. This classic Cavallo sole absorbs shock while supporting natural hoof expansion and contraction. This allows your donkey to move freely and comfortably across gravel, rocky ground, or uneven surfaces.

The boot collar is made from soft foam to reduce pressure and prevent rubbing. The front-fastening Velcro® system keeps the boot securely in place while making it easy to put on and take off. The rugged tread provides excellent grip in all conditions, while built-in side drainage channels help remove water and debris, keeping hooves clean and dry.
