Sizing Advice
Choosing and using hoofboots requires more than simply selecting a size. At EquiSchoen, fitting advice is based on expert analysis and remote guidance, with attention to hoofhealth, movement and load. Even complex situations can be carefully assessed at a distance.
What we mean by fitting advice
At EquiSchoen, fitting advice means assessing whether hoofboots can be suitable and, if so, which solution best matches the horse and its intended use. We look at, among other things:
- hoofshape (such as round, oval, flare, heel position - updright or underrun)
- hoof qualtiy (such as brittle hooves, thin soles)
- movement (such as high knee action, cow hocked, pigeon toe)
- indented use (such as laminitis, jumping, recrational, eventing, endurance)
- surface (such as rough terrain, sand, seawater)
- signals (such as stumbling or dragging)
Two forms of expert fitting advice
We distinguish between expert remote guidance and physical fitting by a (Master) Hoofboot Fitter at your home or location. The difference lies not in expertise, but in physical presence.
- Expert remote fitting advice
EquiSchoen supports horses and owners remotely, including more complex situations, based on measurements, photos and experience.
- Physical fitting by a (Master) Hoofboot Fitter
A fitter assesses and tests hoofboots physically on location. This can be an additional option when direct observing and fitting is desired.
