Description

Determining the right size of hoofboots yourself is easy with the fitkits that you can request from us. The manufacturers of the hoofboots have designed these to help you find the right size hoofboots for your horse's hooves. This prevents wasted time and effort of buying and returning multiple hoof boots. A fitkit for hoofboots consists of fitting shells and/or fitting soles. Fitkits from various brands can be sent to you, so that you can try them on at your leisure. For logistical reasons, this service is only available for Belgium and the Netherlands.

A fitkit is only used to determine the right size. You cannot use them for riding or testing. This is possible with test/rental boots, see link. The costs of a mix fit kit are €80. This consists of a deposit of €60 for a maximum of nine sizes and €20 processing costs. 

We have been using the Mix-FitKit since 2021 because it was requested. It is a bit of extra work for us, but it is more advantageous and convenient for you, the customer:
  • Each brand has its own fit and people want to compare the different brands and sizes.
  • If the horse has unequal dimensions / shapes of hooves, three sizes of a standard fit kit are not enough.
  • When fitting multiple horses, or fitting all around, it makes a significant difference in processing costs.

Step-by-step plan:
1. Measure the hooves correctly, see link. The dimensions of the hooves determine which sizes are needed to fit. Also see the size charts for the fitkits and shoes of the different brands that you prefer.

2. Then order the Mix-FitKit. Our advice is to order one size larger and one size smaller. If the hooves seem to fit in size 2 according to the size chart, order size 1, 2 and 3. Please note that horses often need a larger and rounder size on the front hooves and a slightly smaller and narrower size on the back hooves. You can indicate which brands and sizes you would like to receive in your Mix-FitKit in the text field above.

3. The fitkits usually rotate on Wednesday/Thursday, so that you have plenty of time to try them on during the weekend. After you have received the Mix-FitKit, you have about five days to try them on. After that, you must return the Mix-FitKit to us at your own expense. If you return it too late, we will deduct €5 per week from your deposit. Fit kits that are returned to us with missing, broken or dirty parts will be refunded minus the costs to clean and repair them.

4. A form is enclosed with the Mix-FitKit, where you can indicate on the back how you would like to receive the deposit back:
  • If you want to purchase new hoof boots immediately, or if you want test/rental boots, you can indicate that you want to receive the deposit back in the form of a voucher code. You can redeem these directly with your next order. The voucher codes are unique, can be used once and are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
  • If you do not want test/rental shoes or new hoof boots, we will of course refund the deposit to you.
Do not forget to return this form with the Mix-FitKit! We cannot convert your deposit or refund it to you until we have received the Mix-FitKit back. Please keep the track & trace of your return.

5. If you are unsure about the correct size, you can always rent the hoof boots first to test them, see link. The principle of the rental and test shoes is also based on paying a deposit.
