We had guests from Belgium: Two lovely people (Toon and Carina Martens), with two sweet dogs and two wonderfully well-behaved Fjords on Cavallos! Together they travel from Belgium through the Netherlands, clockwise (and next year other clockwise).
The Fjords pull the caravan, and they never know where they will spend the night next week. They drive about 20 to 30 km per day, with a rest day here and there. They make calls for overnight stays via their Facebook group 'Met de vier voetters door Nederland...' etc. (four-legged friends with double tt). They are now heading towards Westerlee and then Finsterwolde, and those two overnight stays have already been arranged with other people who open their yard and pasture. Do you want to help them too? Then look up that group, and follow them. They arrive around 2:00 to 3:00 PM, and leave early at 7:30 AM, to avoid the heat.
It is so incredibly cool what they do! They have everything with them, from solar panels to water and trimming tools. Toilet, extra hay just in case, fridge, bikes... really everything. And what well-behaved Fjords, many can learn from that. We certainly can.
Really fantastic, what a wonderful couple and inspiring to just go on the road, thinking everything through, and trusting in the hospitality of people.
