The chisel/knife is easy to sharpen and the angle is easy to adjust by giving it a few taps with a rubber mallet. This way you can adapt the FlowTool to your own wrist anatomy. The FlowTool must slide over the horn of the sole and must not cut into it. If you experience this happening, the angle of the blade needs to be adjusted.
You can use the sharper point to pick with or blunt it by holding it against a belt grinder; This can also be adjusted to individual preference. The FlowTool fits easily into the trimming apron. It is an easy and fast tool for frequent hoof maintenance, for both private individuals and professionals.
It is recommended to use the FlowTool with two hands. You use one hand to steer the tool, and with the other (free) hand you can apply and dose force (see video in the image). This way you have extreme control over the FlowTool. Be careful when pulling the FlowTool
towards you with one hand, or towards the horse: use cut-resistant gloves because the blade is sharp!
The FlowTool was developed by Nick Hill, AANHCP (USA), Field Instructor at Liberated Horsemanship (USA) with more than 20 years of experience in the field of hoof care. The product is made of premium quality stainless steel.
